- Find a new house
- Pack up old house
- Drive 2 cars, 2 dogs, 2 grownups and a kid AND a house full of stuff to Florida
- Unpack
- Register the kid for school
- Find a part-time job for me
The fun of looking for a new house is overwhelming enough. Prices are low...typically means the schools suck. And the really gorgeous ones don't allow pets over 35 pounds. Now I'm not a breed snob but I have met some nasty, chewy, barky dogs under 35 pounds. The last two dogs that bit me were under 35 pounds. So finding a nice, cheap house that will allow 190 pounds worth of dogs has been a feat. Out of 3 days of googling we must have looked at a few hundred. Our "maybe" list is down to 8 and only 3 specifically state "Large Dogs OK".
And then there's the matter of the child. While she is the most laid back and good natured kid I've ever met, I still want to make an effort to get her acclimated quickly. That means girl scouts, church, and maybe gymnastics? Of course if you ask her what she would want to do she says "Ehhh...whatever...maybe swim". She truly is my little hippy child. We still can't figure out where that trait came from.
Packing...most of my friends will tell you, I'd just as simply heave everything into a dumpster and start over rather than pack. But I suppose this is different. I'm 30, I have grown-up things that mean something to me. I also have way too many clothes. We're trying to purge each day but I can't help but think "I can sleep in that".
I might need a visit from those Got Junk people next week...otherwise I'll end up leaving it all here and starting over...
